Vacation Bible School: Camp Kilimanjaro

Hey Campers!

We hope you will be joining us as we climb Mount Kilimanjaro, where our friends at Camp Kilimanjaro will teach us about Wisdom and the wisest choice we can make - following Jesus Christ. Each day, we’ll dig deeper into wisdom, answering questions such as:

• What does it mean to listen for what is wise?
• What should your heart do?
• What is wise in our speech?
• How can we act wise?
• How do we walk with the wise?

When? Monday-Friday, June 23-27
Time? 9:00 AM-12:15 PM
Ages? 4 years old (must be potty trained)-entering 6th grade
Cost? $10/child

Here are 9 things you need to know:

1. Check-in Procedures (8:45AM-9:00AM)

• Tables will be set up in the foyer to check-in our campers! A wristband with a code will be given to each child and parent.
• After check-in is complete children will be guided to their assigned team leaders in the auditorium. Parents are welcome to stay and see what the opening ceremony is all about!!!

2. Pick-up Procedures (12:15-12:20PM)

• Safety and security is a priority for us. Thank you for being patient and willing to follow through on all procedures.
• Children will be released from the auditorium only. There will be a clear system of checking each child out in the foyer, and the child will be escorted to the approved adult. Children will not be released with anyone except the person listed on the check-out form. The designated person will be asked to show their code. Showing proper identification will be required.

3. Outdoor Activities & Safety Precautions

• Children will be outdoors for some activities. Please apply sunblock before drop off.
• We suggest wearing closed-toe shoes and clothes you don't mind getting dirty.

4. Our Daily Animals:

Day 1: Elephant - Ears. What does it mean to listen for wisdom? What does that look like?
Day 2: Giraffe - Heart. What is wise with our hearts? Following Jesus is the wisest thing anyone can do.
Day 3: Hippo - Tongue. How can we be wise in how we talk?
Day 4: Monkey - Hands. How can we be wise in how we work?
Day 5: Cheetah - Feet. How do we walk with the wise?

7. Our Rotations

• Wonder and amazement await us each day at Camp Kilimanjaro, where kids will gather at the base camp, a high-energy beginning that includes wacky intros, lively songs, prayer, and a daily drama. Kids will then head to the following areas on a rotation:
  • Mountain-top Bible Time: where God's Word is taught in creative ways. 
  • Crafts & Snacks: where kids munch on some tasty snacks & make some amazing crafts with Professor Jeanie.
  • Games: Our rec time where kids will build relationships with their fellow campers and have a great time!
• Finally, we will conclude by returning back to base camp for Professor Dale’s Science Class: where we explore God’s world through science experiments.

8. Our Mission Moment:

• We encourage you to bring coins (or cash) each day as we are partnering with Children's Hunger Fund to provide meals and share the gospel with children around the world!

• We hope you will join us for worship and Sunday school @ 10:30 AM each Sunday.
